Pause

The world seems often uninterested in things that are whole, families that are peaceful, societies that progress together. Dissension and fighting get a lot more attention.

God's desire for people of faith is that they not only get along, but that they seek to be whole.

God has that desire also for your spirit. Seek that wholeness now in these quiet moments.

Listen

So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2 Corinthians 4:16-5:1

Think

When you seek to follow Jesus with your whole, undivided heart, will you judge your potential with what you see in the mirror? What is seen is only temporary. What if the unseen has even greater potential to define you than anything you can possibly imagine? When you seek to follow Jesus with your whole, undivided heart, will you judge others by what you can see with your earthly eyes, or will you trust your spiritual eyes to see them as God sees them? Seeing the God-given potential in another human being is a gift you can give them.

This life, with its many interruptions, distractions, divisions, and derailments, longs for something true, solid, united, and consistent. Do not lose heart. The one who knows human suffering as well as the glory of God knows you. Whether you feel like five personalities wrapped in one body or one solid, true self, Jesus calls you sister or brother. That has eternal value, friends. Fix your eyes on that.
