Pause

It's hard, mostly impossible, to see the world the way God does. Caught up in our own lives, we see the world mostly from our own narrow points of view.

Perhaps in these next few moments, however, you can get a glimpse of what the Creator sees, and hear the message that God has for all the world to understand.

Listen

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous.”

Genesis 17:1-2

Think

Sometimes it can feel like it is too late to make changes in our lives. Everyone makes mistakes they cannot go back and fix. Difficult things happen in our lives that seem to stand in the way of our futures. It can seem like it’s too late to start over. We may feel we have missed our opportunity for success. We usually define ourselves by where we have been and what we have done.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, God made a covenant with him that would lead to a new life! Abram was given a new name that defined him as the father of many nations. He was not defined by his past, but by his future. We may feel like giving up at times, but it is never too late for God to bless us with a new identity and a hope for the future.
