Pause

As we journey through life, we are often shackled by metaphorical chains that hold us back, tie us down, or slow our progress.

However, we find in God’s abundant love and grace the hope that can free us.

So raise your hands high, liberated to receive the many gifts God has for you.

Listen

The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him; but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the city how much Jesus had done for him.

Luke 8:38-39

Think

Good news is hard to keep inside. We always want to let someone know when something good has happened to us. From our testimonies of how great and wonderful God has been, and continues to be to us, we empower those around us to seek out this wonderful God. Our good news of inclusiveness enables our brothers and sisters who have been made outcasts to realize that they are as worthy of God’s love as we are. The good news of God’s grace, love, and mercy has been made available to all through Christ Jesus. Who then are we to keep this good news from the world?

The time is now for us who have been blessed in diverse ways to tell others about how wonderful God has been to us, how God has freed us from our chains. Just as Jesus commanded the demon-possessed man, I encourage you to go out and tell the wonderful things that God has done for you.

James Blay

Pray

Lord, enable me to find the courage to tell others about the wonderful works you continue to do in my life. May freedom result from the love you show through me. Amen.

Go

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.
