Following the Star

Pause

May you wait with hope during this time of Advent.

May you prepare with hope as you wait for the coming of Christ.

May you live with hope, knowing the transformation that Christ brings to each of us.

Listen

I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus, for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind— just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you— so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9

Think

I’m glad that God is faithful, because I know that I am not faithful every day. Not every day does it feel like I’m on top of the world with God sitting there beside me. In fact, the majority of my days, it feels like I’m wandering around in the valley trying to figure out where God is. But it is also in the valley where I know my hope is the strongest, because there, hope is all I have. I cling to hope as I wait; and I wait because I know that God is faithful.

Jeremy Colliver

Pray

God, I wait with expectation. I wait in the valley with the hope that I find in your son, Jesus Christ. I wait for your glory to be fully revealed. Amen.

Go

Go and be the hope of the world around you by being the hands and feet of Christ.
