We know that Christ has been raised from the dead and he will never die again. Death no longer has power over him. He died to sin once and for all with his death, but he lives for God with his life. In the same way, you also should consider yourselves dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:9-11

Think

Thinking about infinity is alright every now and then. All you have to do is imagine counting the granules in a handful of sand. And then realize that there are vast beaches all over the planet. And then realize that there is a whole universe full of planets and particles. And then imagine that there are two full universes. Now double it. Double it again.

Despite the size and scope of the universe, there is nothing in it that lasts forever. If one thing is certain in the universe, it is finitude. We – and our lives in this universe – are limited, just like everything else.

But Jesus shows us life beyond life and promises his people that God is more infinite than even the whole universe.

Hi God, it’s me again. You are greater than I can imagine, and all of creation is just a glimpse of your power. Give me eyes to see your greatness at work in the world. Amen.
