How we see things is a matter of perspective, and we are each limited by the experiences our lives have brought us. We simply cannot be truly objective.
But our Maker sees it all, knows every experience, and sees us - each one - with absolute clarity.
The result is love and acceptance. Open yourself now to be seen clearly, and to be loved.
James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came forward to him and said to him, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” And he said to them, “What is it you want me to do for you?” And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.”

What do you ask God for? We get it all wrong when we take Jesus’ invitation to ask anything of him and turn it into a wish list for our own gain.
Think about your own prayers. Are they more often just about making things better for you? Or do you think about and pray for the deep hurts you see around you?
We can be God’s eyes, ears, and hands in a world hungry for love and acceptance. When Jesus asks us, “What do you want me to do for you?” we can ask to be led to people who are hurting, and dare to offer our prayers, care, and support for them.
Instead of asking to sit on either side of Jesus, we can choose to sit with those who need God’s love and our acceptance. Our place in the sight of God will then be a seat in a place of honor.
