Pause

What will you hear today? Take a deep breath. God has something for you, to shape you, to calm you, to inspire you.

Listen

The truly happy person doesn’t follow wicked advice, doesn’t stand on the road of sinners, and doesn’t sit with the disrespectful.

Psalm 1:1

Think

Faith. Something you have. Something you hear about. Something that when you possess it, you tend not to think about it. “Oh, I have faith! Hey there, faith, good day to you! Feeling especially strong today?” Not so much.

Faith tends to be the thing we cry out for, usually when we need it. When we’re feeling completely lost or alone. When we’ve been less than … good, honest, or brave.

We find that faith hidden deep within, usually when we’ve just about forgotten about it. Here’s the incredible thing, though — whether we’re thinking about it or not — faith is still there. And God hovers over it, protecting it, shining a light on it, pushing it forward to us like a parent pushes a life-giving meal, or a vitamin, or a moment of forgiveness.

Pray

Loving God, you give me faith. I can’t always feel it or summon it. But I hear you in this moment, in the ancient words, in the new chance today, that this faith in you is already present in me. Help me live today, a day that reflects your love and care for me and for everyone, in a way that reflects outwardly the faith I hold inside. Amen.

Go

Go into the world. Make disciples. Make people curious. Make your faith visible.
