Pause

Come, Holy Spirit!
Come, fill our minds with your vision.
Come, fill our souls with your passionate fire.
Come, fill our mouths with words from your tongue.
Come, fill our hearts with your unconditional love.
Come, Holy Spirit!

Listen

May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works — who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke. I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord.

Psalm 104:31-34

Think

As you reflect upon the verses from this psalm today, think about the most recent time you rejoiced, really rejoiced, in all the works of God. While you sing to the Lord of life, notice and rejoice in the wonders of creation – land, seas, animals, stars, sun, moon, humans – all that God created and declared good.

Rejoice in the beauty that is around us and sustains us.

Rejoice in the trivial and the profound.
Rejoice in the laughter of children and wisdom of grandparents.
Rejoice in the mundane and the extraordinary.

Rejoice, celebrate, and sing praises to our God –
Because we were granted the gift of another day to do so!

Pray

God, may my meditations be pleasing to you as long as I live. Amen.

Go

Go, Holy Spirit!
Go blow away that which is destructive to ourselves and others.
Go resuscitate and breathe life into those in distress.
Go before us, leading us in the way of truth and hope.
Go, in spite of our attempts to rein you in and keep you confined.
Go, Holy Spirit!
