Listen

I thank my God every time I mention you in my prayers. I’m thankful for all of you every time I pray, and it’s always a prayer full of joy. I’m glad because of the way you have been my partners in the ministry of the gospel from the time you first believed it until now.

Think

What a blessing it is to have a squad around us!

No matter how big, small, new, or old your community is, God has blessed you with those people. They are there to support you, to love you, to have fun with you, and to live life with you at every turn. These people bring a joy to life that cannot be matched, and that is how we know that our community is a blessing from God. You see, those things which exude profound joy are nothing other than God’s work. It’s important that we remember to thank God for these people, and it’s important to thank these people for being who they are in our lives.

Maybe today you can remind someone in your community that you are grateful for them, that you value them, and that you love them.

Pray

God, you are generous. You have showered me with immeasurable blessings in this life. Help me to see the gift of community, to embrace your children, and to know that none of these joys would be possible without your generosity. Amen.

Go

Remember that in Matthew 18:20, Jesus tells us: “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I’m there with them.” God is present in the midst of our squads, no matter what they look like.

Go now into your day, and as you go:

Be in relationship.

Seek out God’s children.

Meet them with love.

Practice kindness.

Live together in peace.

Know that God is there.
