Obsession. That is a very strong word which describes the way someone or something can dominate a person's life. To be obsessed is to have almost no control over your feelings.

The reign of Christ is not that way. It is an invitation accepted to a way of life, not something that is forced upon us.

You are invited now to find your way into Christ's reign. Accept the invitation gladly!

Listen

Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:7-8

Think

Even though God is above and beyond anything we can imagine, God still comes to us. God makes a home with us. Psalm 138:6 says, “For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly.” In Isaiah 57:15 we read, “For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit.” God is searching for humble and available people to serve God.

Leonard Bernstein, the celebrated conductor, was once asked, “What is the hardest instrument to play?” Without hesitation he replied, “Second fiddle. I can get plenty of first violinists. But to find one who plays second violin with as much enthusiasm…or second flute, now that’s a problem! And yet if no one plays second, we have no harmony.”

Ponder today how you can live in harmony with the Alpha and the Omega of the universe.

Pray

Alpha and Omega, you are my beginning and my end. I humble myself before you today. Reign in this world; reign in my heart. Amen.

Blessings abound where-e're Christ reigns:
The prisoners leap to lose their chains,
The weary find eternal rest,
And all who suffer want are blessed.
