Obsession. That is a very strong word which describes the way someone or something can dominate a person's life. To be obsessed is to have almost no control over your feelings.

The reign of Christ is not that way. It is an invitation accepted to a way of life, not something that is forced upon us.

You are invited now to find your way into Christ's reign. Accept the invitation gladly!

Listen

Pilate asked him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

John 18:37

Think

People leave all sorts of creative outgoing messages on their voicemail. This is what you hear when you call one of my friends: “Hello. This is not an answering machine. This is a question machine. And there are really only two questions that matter. Who are you and what do you want?”

Those are good questions: Who are you and what do you want?

Pilate wanted to know who Jesus was and why he had come. Jesus said that he was born to testify to the truth. Amazingly, he was the truth. And he came to tell others the truth that God is love, that everything is forgiven. So the truth came to tell the truth. Wow!

If someone were to ask you, “Who are you and what do you want?” what would you say? Is your life grounded in the truth? Do you know who you are in Christ – loved and forgiven?

Pray

Creator God, you made me and love me as I am. Help me to know who you are today, and who I am. Amen.

Go

Blessings abound where-e're Christ reigns:
The prisoners leap to lose their chains,
The weary find eternal rest,
And all who suffer want are blessed.
