Pause

No matter how you receive it—email, snail mail, hand-delivered, or face-to-face—there’s nothing like getting an invitation! It means somebody who knows you wants to hang out with you, spend time with you, and get to know you better.

God has an invitation for you as well. It means pretty much the same thing: God wants to spend time with you and wants your relationship to grow.

This invitation comes from within. Take a little time now to accept it.

Listen

So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each. For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.

1 Corinthians 3:7–9

Think

God is inviting you to participate in a fabulous event—and, you will not get credit for anything you do! Sounds like a plan, right? Ummm, maybe not?

See, too many of us wanna do some awesome thing for God, but we want credit. We are a bit selfish. We want everyone to look at us and know how special we are. But God challenges us to do something awesome so others will know how special God is! Our ways are not God’s ways, and that is a good thing! So, are you willing to accept the invitation?

Pray

God, thank you for the invitation. I’m not sure I’m able to accept this one, but with your help I’m willing to try! Amen!
