Ordinary Time

Pause

Pause and imagine! “The Spirit of God and the Word of God are the fuel of your imagination. The key to the strongest and healthiest imagination is a daily quiet time.”

-Rick Warren

Listen

Then Elisha picked up the coat that had fallen from Elijah. He went back and stood beside the banks of the Jordan River. He took the coat that had fallen from Elijah and hit the water. He said, “Where is the Lord, Elijah’s God?” And when he hit the water, it divided in two! Then Elisha crossed over.

2 Kings 2:13-14

Think

If you had the opportunity to have a superpower for a day, what would it be and why? You may be clear about which one to choose, or it may not be so simple. Surely, your answer will be influenced by the stage and needs of your life. So, I would like to rephrase the question. You will have to be strategic and make the most of such a great opportunity. Which superpower would benefit you today?

Imagine having a superpower that can change your reality and the reality of those around you. Elisha experienced something similar when he witnessed the moment Elijah ascended to heaven in a whirlwind. Then he experienced the power of God over the waters of the Jordan River as a symbol of his new prophetic leadership. Today, God calls you to be a prophetic voice in this time, a person of influence through God’s great power, and an agent of transformation in a world full of suffering. Take the mantle and live with purpose!
