Journey to the Cross

Pause

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

What does Easter mean to you?

What Good News can you model for others, in words or actions?

How will you embody the risen Christ in this season of joy?

How will you live into the spirit of “Alleluia?”

God’s love for you is boundless, endless, and unconditional. Alleluia!

Listen

It was still the first day of the week. That evening, while the disciples were behind closed doors because they were afraid of the Jewish authorities, Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace be with you.”

John 20:19

Think

The disciples were fearful, and Jesus came to say “peace be with you.” Sometimes when we are afraid and have experienced a loss, we can fall into fear that things may never be joyful again. Those moments of darkness feel so real, so overwhelming, and so endless. In moments like these, like the disciples, we often just want to stay behind a closed door.

In this Easter season, we know that Jesus’ resurrection has returned us to light, hope, faith, and joy. He is the peace-bearer who reassures us of our belovedness, even when we are afraid. Jesus brings peace to the disciples and to all of us. How can you be a peace-bearer today and every day?

Pray

Loving God, prepare me to be a peace-bearer so that I may overcome my fears and be a source of light and love to others who are living in fear. Amen.

Go

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

You are beloved.

You are a peace bearer.

You are a light in the world for others.

God’s love for you is boundless, endless, and unconditional. Alleluia!
