Journey to the Cross

Pause

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

What does Easter mean to you?

What Good News can you model for others, in words or actions?

How will you embody the risen Christ in this season of joy?

How will you live into the spirit of “Alleluia?”

God’s love for you is boundless, endless, and unconditional. Alleluia!

Listen

Thomas, the one called Didymus, one of the Twelve, wasn’t with the disciples when Jesus came. The other disciples told him, “We’ve seen the Lord!”

But he replied, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, put my finger in the wounds left by the nails, and put my hand into his side, I won’t believe.”

John 20:24-25

Think

While we might like to think that we would have simply accepted Jesus’ return to the disciples, I think many of us would have been more like Thomas, wanting “proof” of this seemingly impossible event.

And that is a great way to think about our faith. It’s not all easy to “simply accept.” Do we recognize that God’s love for us is boundless, endless, and unconditional? Do we doubt God’s love for us when bad things happen? Do we feel that God will abandon us when we make mistakes?

“For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son.” In this Easter season, we are reminded that God sent Jesus to redeem us, to save us, and to show us how to love. What do you need to do to remember God’s unconditional love? How can you model that love for others, so that they might have faith?

Pray

Loving God, help me to remember faith when I begin to feel doubt. Help me to remember love in the face of my mistakes. As you are always with me, help me to be a loving presence for others. Amen.

Go
