Think

Treat People with Kindness (or TPWK for you Harry Styles fans). Seems like a really simple concept, but when you are walking down the hallway and someone shoves you… or when someone picks on you for whatever reason… or your sibling is driving you crazy… the thought of Treating People with Kindness quickly goes out the window, right?

However, Jesus did just this. Jesus showed kindness to all. When the day is crazy and your life is full from school, work, sports, volunteering, and family commitments and your world is spinning – when you feel your temperature boil – take a breath before responding. Walk away if you need to before you respond.

And then, show kindness to those you encounter. Give people second chances. Smile at someone as you pass them in the hallway. Write a letter to a family member. Make some cookies for the fire station. Simple acts add up to a lot of smiles. I believe it makes Jesus smile as well.

God, this day and always, help me to show kindness. May I remember the kindness that has been shown to me and give the same to others. Amen.

Go knowing whatever normal is for you, God loves you. God is with you.
