Ordinary Time

Pause

Spirit of the Living God, make us one.

Spirit of the Living God, give us hope.

Spirit of the Living God, show us grace.

Spirit of the Living God, be with us now.

Listen

Give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make his deeds known to all people! Sing to God; sing praises to the Lord; dwell on all his wondrous works!

Psalm 105:1-2

Think

My friend group in college was made up of people from all different places, seeking all different degrees in school. Some of us were business majors, others education majors, a couple social work majors, and even a pre-health major. We each spent our days studying a variety of subjects, going to different classes, seeking different careers. But what united us as a friend group was our commonality in our love for Christ and our love for one another. In Christ we were united, and we still are – even while we are apart, far from our college campus.

I praise God for these friendships I have and all that God has done through them, thanking God for them each and every day.

Because of the unity we have in Christ, we are called to give thanks to God in all that we do, with all that we are, because of all that God has done for us. What can you give thanks to God for today?

Pray

Holy God, I come to you today with a grateful heart. May I praise you with all that I have and all that I am today, finding unity with those around me in the love of Christ. Amen.

Go

Even while we are apart, we are still united in Christ Jesus.

Go today, reaching out to those you can, showing grace to those you encounter.

Go today, with hope in a neighbor, faith in a friend, and love for a stranger.

Go today, a member of the body of Christ, in which we are called to Be One.
