Journey to the Cross

Pause

If you can dream it, you can create it with God’s help. “Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us.”

Ephesians 3:20

Listen

Lord, change our circumstances for the better, like dry streams in the desert waste! Let those who plant with tears reap the harvest with joyful shouts. Let those who go out, crying and carrying their seed, come home with joyful shouts, carrying bales of grain!

Psalm 126:4-6

Think

Our psalm reading for today reminds us that although serving God and bringing the good news to the world can be challenging, our labor is not in vain. God promises that we will reap with joy. The indifference of others does not define the value of our mission. Our mission is defined by the faithfulness of God in fulfilling promises.

Disciples of Christ are called to persevere, trusting that despite the challenges, the seed we sow today will bear fruit in God’s time, and that harvest will bring joy both to those who have been reached and to us. Our service to God has an eternal purpose. Keep the faith, keep sowing with hope, and trust that God will use your efforts to impact many lives. You don’t have to be a deacon or a priest to bring the hope of faith. Wherever God plants you, as a student, friend, parent, or co-worker, you can intentionally model God’s love to those who don’t know God.

Question to Ponder:

How are you intentionally modeling God’s love to your circle of friends?

Pray

Holy Spirit, help me to be intentional in showing kindness, patience, and grace with the people I interact with on a daily basis. I ask that my whole life be a testimony of God’s love, so that my friends can see through me what it means to walk in your light. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Go

Remember that God has created you to live a full and abundant life. Don’t let the difficulties of this life rob you of joy and hope. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and his faithful promises.
