You are loved unconditionally.

God loves you unconditionally.

Today, let us trust in this love.

Listen

Thomas asked, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you have really known me, you will also know the Father. From now on you know him and have seen him.”

John 14:5-7

Think

Thomas is the disciple of Jesus known for his questions. And today’s scripture reading is no different. Thomas had just heard Jesus’ statement about going to prepare a place for his followers. He asked Jesus how he could know the way. He didn’t want to be left out.

Could Jesus give him a Google map? An address to put into his phone? A location he could visit anytime he wanted? He was ready and willing to find it.

Yet Jesus answered Thomas, saying: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” The way stood right in front him. Out of the relationship he shared with Jesus, Thomas would find the path.

Sometimes we, like Thomas, long for literal answers to our questions. Yet on the journey of faith, Jesus says to us, “I am the way.” As we keep hanging out with the Lord, we find our next steps.
