Ordinary Time
These moments are just for you. There are some big ideas just ahead, so take a moment to gather yourself.
It is a BIG God who has been made known to us through Christ. May you feel and know Christ now in fullness of truth and purpose.
I ask that Christ will live in your hearts through faith. As a result of having strong roots in love, I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width and length, height and depth, together with all believers. I ask that you’ll know the love of Christ that is beyond knowledge so that you will be filled entirely with the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19
“How can I pray for you?”
Today’s text gives a pretty good model for how to answer that question. Paul’s prayer for the church at Ephesus is one that echoes through the years and hits home for us today: that our faith will be strong, that we will be deeply aware of Christ within, and that we will love in a big way. That we will even just begin to understand how big God’s love is – wide, long, high, and deep – and that we will understand that bigness alongside other believers.
And then Paul prays that we will somehow know that which is unknowable – the fullness of God filling us up – all the way up. Is that even possible? Not on our own, of course, not even when friends share that goal, and we are committed to one another.
But with a Big God? Well, that’s different story.

God, today I pray for myself:
That I will feel the fullness of Christ’s presence in me and that I will be able to love in a big way.
Amen.
Go now with the confidence that the same Christ who was before the beginning of Creation is also with you, inside you, to empower and bless you.
Be a blessing then also to those you encounter today.
