Journey to the Cross
Walking with God every day is the pathway to blessing.
Give thanks to the Lord because he is good, because his faithful love lasts forever. Let Israel say it: “God’s faithful love lasts forever!”
Psalm 118:1-2
Love is a word that is probably overused and may sometimes be misunderstood. Young couples in love look at the other intently and say, “I love you!” Despite the eye rolling of the young, even old married people kiss and say, “I love you!” Love is a good thing. Love is a blessing. Happiness and joy accompany love. This kind of love is known as erotic love. This is a natural love between human beings. Interestingly though, the same joy one has in a good moment of love connection can turn quickly into a sour pickle. When in a pickle, some couples make-up and try again while others separate to hopefully find partner love again.
In our scripture today, we are reminded that the love of God endures forever. I remember telling my sons that they could not do anything so bad that the love of God could not reach them. The “agape”—selfless, unconditional, and universal—love of God is present. This truth of a good God makes us thankful that God’s love endures forever.

Question to Ponder:
In what ways have our love for things—gadgets, widgets, and more stuff—taken the place of our worship for God?
I am blessed to have your love, God! Your love sticks around forever and ever! Will you teach me to love you more each day? Help me to love others as you love me. Amen.
As you go, remember that whether you are on top of the world or in a low place, continue to walk with God. Step by step your path will be clear. So go in peace, knowing that whatever you face, God is with you!
