Pause

Consider.

God is offering you rest and joy.

What's keeping you from grasping hold of these gifts?

Listen

I will bless the Lord who advises me; even at night I am instructed in the depths of my mind. I always put the Lord in front of me; I will not stumble because he is on my right side.

Psalm 16:7-8

Think

Choir? Math team? Soccer? Key Club? Student Council? Church youth leadership team? Band? A dance? Other social opportunities?

How do I know when to say “yes” and when to say “no”? What if one of these opportunities will get me into college or grad school? What if I say “no” to something that will ultimately hurt my future? What if I miss a social event and then my friends drift away from me? How do I know what to do and what not to do?

Consider: Have you brought these scenarios before God, the one who knows everything about you and the best path for your future? Often, we forget to ask the very One who knows the answer. Then, we wonder why we are so confused.

Are you letting God advise you?

Pray

Dear God, why am I so slow to learn that you are always there? To learn that you are present with me and want to give me counsel? Help me to remember to turn to you with every important decision I make. Amen.

Go

Don’t think, “Yes, in the future, I ought to…”

Instead, do it.

Do it now.
