Pause

Consider.

God is offering you rest and joy.

What's keeping you from grasping hold of these gifts?

Listen

You teach me the way of life. In your presence is total celebration. Beautiful things are always in your right hand.

Psalm 16:11

Think

What is God up to? No, really… what is God’s primary objective? God is hard to see and hard to hear a lot of times. So, what is God doing all day every day?

I think the church has made a mess of this question. We portray God as an angry school principal in the sky just waiting to catch us playing hooky, or as an absentee landlord who could come home any minute and punish us for making a mess of the property.

Nonsense!

The life of Jesus and his own words tell us otherwise. John 10:10 proclaims, “I have come that they might have life and have it abundantly.” God wants to lead you into a deep, self-affirming joy, so deep it sinks down into your bones. Deeper than consciousness. Deep enough that you begin to see yourself the way God sees you… precious, singular, beloved, a priceless treasure.

Turning to God with questions and allowing God to join you in your life journey is nothing more than saying “yes” to joy. Will you say “yes” to joy?

Pray

God, help me to say “yes” to the life you will for me, a life of abundance. May I turn to you so that you might move in my life to bless me and to make me a blessing to others. Amen.

Go

Don’t think, “Yes, in the future, I ought to…”

Instead, do it.

Do it now.
