Journey to the Cross
Beloved,
Be yourself.
Be present here.
Be open to possibilities.
Be attentive to the Spirit.
Be renewed by God’s amazing grace.
Be encouraged for the unfolding journey ahead.
The Law brings about wrath. But when there isn’t any law, there isn’t any violation of the law. That’s why the inheritance comes through faith, so that it will be on the basis of God’s grace. In that way, the promise is secure for all of Abraham’s descendants, not just for those who are related by Law but also for those who are related by the faith of Abraham, who is the father of all of us. As it is written: I have appointed you to be the father of many nations. So Abraham is our father in the eyes of God in whom he had faith, the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that don’t exist into existence.
Romans 4:15-17
“Will this test be graded on a curve?” It’s a question I often wondered about during my school days. It was an easy, though false, mind trap to fall into – thinking that grades are the most important thing. Anxiousness heightened as exam days grew closer. I was too busy, too disinterested in the subject matter, too apathetic to do a reasonable amount of work in certain subjects, so I was hoping the teacher might offer a measure of grace, even before I started to study. Some educators did and some did not.
Teachers may be real life saints in many instances, but they are not God. However we can all take comfort in knowing that God grades on a curve named grace. It is God’s gift to us that keeps on giving. A promise that has been passed down from generation to generation from Abraham until now and forevermore.

God, thank you for your grace.
Use this gift to bring me new life in Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Go.
Go gently.
Go in peace.
Go follow the Spirit.
Go, prepared to begin again.
Go, knowing Christ goes with you.
Go in the embrace of God’s grace.
