Journey to the Cross
Beloved,
Be yourself.
Be present here.
Be open to possibilities.
Be attentive to the Spirit.
Be renewed by God’s amazing grace.
Be encouraged for the unfolding journey ahead.
There was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a Jewish leader. He came to Jesus at night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one could do these miraculous signs that you do unless God is with him.”
Jesus answered, “I assure you, unless someone is born anew, it’s not possible to see God’s kingdom.”
Nicodemus asked, “How is it possible for an adult to be born? It’s impossible to enter the mother’s womb for a second time and be born, isn’t it?”
John 3:1-4
“How is it possible for an adult to be born?” Nicodemus asks Jesus. What a question! Perhaps you are experiencing a season of life where everything feels the same. The rut of routine has taken hold, and many days feel stale. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve attempted to jumpstart a conversation by inquiring “What’s new?”. The most common reply is “Not much.”
We often get so comfortable with our patterns and so used to asking the same questions over and over that we miss out on possibilities of a new perspective. The date on our birth certificate will not change, but perhaps if we boldly break from doing things the same way we’ve always done and asking the questions we’ve always asked, maybe, just maybe we’ll get a glimpse of the vision Jesus Christ has for us.

God of new life, break through the tunnel vision of my monotonous routines, and open me to possibilities beyond my imagination.
Amen.
Go.
Go gently.
Go in peace.
Go follow the Spirit.
Go, prepared to begin again.
Go, knowing Christ goes with you.
Go in the embrace of God’s grace.
