Ordinary Time

Pause

Love can speak without a single word. Love speaks in dance, missions, art, nature, civil protests, and relationships. With God, you have a voice. Through you, God speaks to the world.

So pause and ask, how is God speaking through you?

Listen

Then the Lord stretched out his hand,Ā touched my mouth, and said to me,Ā ā€œIā€™m putting my words in your mouth.Ā This very day I appoint you over nations and empires,Ā to dig up and pull down,Ā to destroy and demolish,Ā to build and plant.ā€

Jeremiah 1:9-10

Think

ā€œI got your back!ā€ Thatā€™s what my friends used to say whenever I wanted to do something daring. ā€œI got your backā€ were their words of support. ā€œI got your backā€ gave me the strength to move forward even when the way was hard. In this passage, God is telling Jeremiah, ā€œI got your back!ā€

God, the maker of heaven and earth, has your back. The Creator of all there was, all there is, and all that will ever be is looking out for you. So be bold. Be courageous. Live out the call to speak. It will not be easy, because nothing worthwhile is ever easy. But God walks with you, works in you, and is seen through you. You are called to speak and you got this. God has your back.

Pray

Lord, work in me so that others may see you through me. Thank you for your love and grace that give me the courage to follow in your ways. Amen.

Francis Assisi once said, ā€œPreach the Gospel at all times; when necessary use words.ā€

May God walk with you, work in you, and speak through you because of the life you live.
