Ordinary Time

Pause

Love can speak without a single word. Love speaks in dance, missions, art, nature, civil protests, and relationships. With God, you have a voice. Through you, God speaks to the world.

So pause and ask, how is God speaking through you?

Listen

The Lord’s word came to me:

“Before I created you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart; I made you a prophet to the nations.”

“Ah, Lord God,” I said, “I don’t know how to speak because I’m only a child.”

Jeremiah 1:4-6

Think

You are God’s hands preparing meals for the hungry. You are God’s feet running to help those who are suffering. You are God’s light guiding those living in dark places. You are God’s voice demanding justice for the oppressed. Through you, God speaks to the world. Through the life you live and the sacrifices you make, God is present.

Like Jeremiah, God knew you and loved you before you were formed. Like Jeremiah, you are called to change the world. And like Jeremiah, you are a game changer for somebody. You are called to speak.

Pray

Lord, work in me so that others may see you through me. Let my life follow in the ways of love, grace, and justice. Amen.

Francis Assisi once said, “Preach the Gospel at all times; when necessary use words.”

May God walk with you, work in you, and speak through you because of the life you live.
