Ordinary Time
Do you wish to immerse yourself in the depths of God’s presence?
A teacher of the law went to speak to Jesus, and to test him, he asked, “Teacher, what must I do to attain eternal life?
Jesus answered him, What is written in the law? What do you read?
The teacher of the law replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind”; and, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly. If you do that, you will have life.
Luke 10:25-28
A few days ago I read that the current world population is estimated at approximately 8.02 billion people according to recent data. The interesting thing is that no human being in all of history has ever resembled or will ever resemble another person. Everyone is unique and you must understand that your life is a gift. God formed us as unique and special people! Even though people are not the same as us, we should love our neighbor in the same way we love ourselves. The other person’s difference affirms that God created them and that they can join together to make a difference in the world. Loving God and neighbor is not only a commandment, but a way of life that we must cultivate as followers of Christ.

Question to ponder
What makes you different in God?
God, may I love you with all my strength and learn to love myself. Help me to put you first in my decisions, thoughts and actions. Teach me to have compassion, forgive, respect and value others. Amen.
Immerse yourself in God’s presence. Immerse yourself in God’s word. Immerse yourself in God’s mission.
