Examine me, God! Look at my heart! Put me to the test! Know my anxious thoughts! Look to see if there is any idolatrous way in me, then lead me on the eternal path!

Think

It’s easy to fool the people around us. We can smile as if nothing is wrong and say “fine” when people ask us how we are doing. We rationalize the things that are wrong and convince ourselves that our circumstances or our sins aren’t really that bad.

I know that I am good at putting a smile on my face and pretending that everything is okay. I know that I can convince myself of just about anything and ignore areas in my life that need real attention and change. Sometimes, I get so good at pretending that I even fool myself.

God knows us better than anyone. God sees our true hearts instead of the face that we present to the world. God offers us healing and forgiveness. God shows us a way of truth and goodness.

God, thank you for offering me healing and forgiveness. Help me to see the truth in my own life and to follow your ways. Amen.
