Journey to the Cross
“When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds, I will remember the covenant between me and you and every living being among all the creatures. Floodwaters will never again destroy all creatures. The bow will be in the clouds, and upon seeing it I will remember the enduring covenant between God and every living being of all the earth’s creatures.” God said to Noah, “This is the symbol of the covenant that I have set up between me and all creatures on earth.”
Genesis 9:14-17
God said we are in a relationship because we are the recipients of the covenant. What a privilege and joy divine it is that God invites us on this journey! When I see the rainbow, I remember. I remember that remembering is a big part of our journey of life. “I am the Lord your God.” We see that rainbow and remember the everlasting covenant. Remember: we make mistakes, but we serve a God who is forgiving and loving and makes a covenant with us. The covenant with God reminds us that the God who loves us just as we are, hears our confession, offers us cleansing, blesses us with compassion, and journeys with us. We do not need to be afraid. God loves us just the way we are. As we take responsibility for our shortcomings and mistakes, God has mercy on us and creates in us clean hearts. May this Lenten season bless you with reflection time and joy. May your journey with Jesus in the wilderness bless the world and bring peace.

Question to Ponder:
Where are you on your journey with God? What are you doing during this season of Lent to be more open to God’s presence in your life?
Dear God,
May I always think as well as pray. May I ensure that what I say is truthful, helpful, inspirational, necessary, and kind, so that those who meet me will meet Jesus.
Amen.
Go now in peace, go now in peace. May the love of God surround you, every day and everywhere you may go.
