Sometimes I forget…
That his grace is sufficient for me,
That it’s deeper and wider than I can conceive:
His grace is sufficient for me.

And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near.

Hebrews 10:24-25

Think

My family has a hard time getting out the door to church. Honestly, with two little kids, we have a hard time getting out the door, period. But somehow, Sunday mornings are especially hard. At the last minute, someone inevitably has to go potty or can’t find their favorite toy. And a part of me thinks: Or … we could just stay home?

When we get there, though, we remember why it was worth the effort. Sure, I could stay home and pray by myself. But there are so many things about worshiping together that I would miss: getting hugs from all our “church aunties,” being surprisingly moved by the sermon, hearing the music, closing my eyes, and feeling the presence of God.

It’s so easy to fall out of the habit of meeting together with other believers (which is why, of course, the letter to the Hebrews warns them about it). But if we’re able to keep showing up, God finds some amazing ways to work in our lives through the church.

Question to Ponder:

How does going to church make you feel?

Pray

God, please help me spark love and good deeds in other people, and help me be an encourager to everyone I meet. Amen.
