Pause

Some may say there is much to fear.

But see what obstacles we’ve overcome!

For the Lord has been walking with us every step of the journey and will continue to. Forever.

If God is for us, who can be against us?

Listen

Be glad in the Lord always! Again I say, be glad! Let your gentleness show in your treatment of all people. The Lord is near.

Think

It is amazing to realize that Paul was in jail when he wrote this letter to the Philippians. It’s even more amazing to think that during that time, Paul was reminding those reading and hearing this letter to be glad in the Lord. He could have been upset because of being in prison but instead, he realized that others needed to hear the words that God had given him. Paul had nothing to fear as he knew the Lord was with him.

We are reminded in today’s passage that the Lord is always close to us, regardless of our circumstance. In the Lord, we always have a partner to help us fight our battles and a friend to rejoice with us in victory. And right now, as you spend time with God, the presence of the Holy Spirit is with you as well. God will never leave you or forsake you.

Pray

God, thank you for your faithfulness to always stay close to me, no matter what is going on in my life. And God, I give you praise for sending your Son, Jesus, to save me and give me freedom to live my life without fear, for I know that you are always with me. Amen.

Go

Remember the words of Jesus as you go forth today:

“Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.” (Matthew 28:20)
