Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks from the water that I will give will never be thirsty again. The water that I give will become in those who drink it a spring of water that bubbles up into eternal life.”

The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will never be thirsty and will never need to come here to draw water!”

Think

Eternal is a very long time… It is forever! Which makes me think that my current life is as limited and brief as a grain of sand on the beach. Being smart, it is better to assure eternity because having that assurance lets you deal with what today might bring.

The Samaritan woman was tired of going every day to draw water to the well, alone in the middle of the day. Sometimes we are tired of trying to solve everything on our own, and it often does not work.

Jesus is offering the best option, not only for today, but for eternity. He shows us God’s love and desires for the Holy Spirit to be with you 24/7. He wants you to feel great knowing that eternity is covered, but because eternity is covered, today will be his “present” (gift) for you.

Dear Jesus, I want to have the assurance in my heart that I live every day in eternity.

I open my heart to you today. I want you to show me the way, truth and life.

I thank you for paying the price for me in the cross.

I thank you for resurrecting and giving me the opportunity to enjoy eternal life.
