Ordinary Time

Pause

Our faith leads us to pause and spend time with God.

Our faith also leads us to go and do something:

To seek justice and peace and show mercy and grace.

Listen

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s continue to express our gratitude. With this gratitude, let’s serve in a way that is pleasing to God with respect and awe, because our God really is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 12:28-29

Think

I don’t like it when plans suddenly change. I usually want to know what is happening, when it is happening, and how everything will turn out. One time, I prepared for something important, and at the last minute, everything changed. I felt frustrated because all my preparation suddenly seemed useless. Later, I realized that even though my plans had changed, God had not.

Sometimes we focus so much on everything shaking around us that we forget we belong to a God who cannot be shaken. God’s unshaken reality helps us build a new mindset while everything around us in our society is literally crumbling! God inspires us to build with hope, not with human power but with love. Knowing this should fill us with gratitude, not just the kind we express with words, but the kind we demonstrate through service. Even if there is change, remember that you can still be strong, serve, and give thanks because God’s kingdom of love and justice remains steady.

Question to Ponder:

How are you practicing trust in God?

Pray

God, help me realize that things change, adapt, and transform. But you, in your love, justice, and mercy, remain steady. Give me the strength to remember that you are the foundation of my gratitude and future. Amen.

Go

Let’s go, vamos

Let’s run God’s race

With love and action

Come on, let’s go: ¡Vamos!
