Ordinary Time
Amid life’s noise and distractions, take a moment to quiet your heart. Reflect on the gentle, steady ways God leads you:
Through creation, scripture, and the quiet nudges of the Spirit.
Are you aligning your path with God’s?
The Lord’s Instruction is perfect, reviving one’s very being. The Lord’s laws are faithful, making naive people wise. The Lord’s regulations are right, gladdening the heart. The Lord’s commands are pure, giving light to the eyes. Honoring the Lord is correct, lasting forever. The Lord’s judgments are true. All of these are righteous! They are more desirable than gold—than tons of pure gold! They are sweeter than honey—even dripping off the honeycomb! No doubt about it: your servant is enlightened by them; there is great reward in keeping them.
Psalm 19:7-11
God’s word is a guide for every aspect of our lives, offering wisdom, joy, and clarity. The psalmist talks about God’s word in several different ways: instruction, laws, regulations, commands, and judgments. All of these are ways God guides us. God’s ways refresh and redirect us, pointing to the path of righteousness that leads to spiritual rewards.
When we value God’s word as more precious than gold, our hearts align with God’s will, ensuring that we walk in God’s ways with confidence and peace. Today, in a world overwhelmed by choices, trusting in God’s commands outshines material desires and offers deeper satisfaction. Just as honey pleases the appetite, God’s directives nourish the spirit, leading us to a life of purpose and reward.

Question to Ponder:
How can valuing God’s word as “more precious than gold” and “sweeter than honey” shape the way we make decisions and respond to challenges in our daily lives?
Lord, help me treasure your word above all else and obey it wholeheartedly. Lead me to walk in the light of your truth each day. Amen.
Step forward with purpose,
carrying the joy of the Lord in your heart,
walking boldly in God’s ways,
and sharing light with everyone you encounter.
