Ordinary Time

Pause

Take a deep breath and remember, God wants your heart to be full of joy.

Listen

Weeping may stay all night, but by morning, joy!

Psalm 30:5b

Think

Some days feel heavy. You might cry after a rough conversation, mess up on a test you studied hard for, or feel left out by friends. When it’s dark and you’re overwhelmed, it can feel like the sadness is never going to end. But Psalm 30 gives us a powerful reminder: even though we may cry at night, joy comes in the morning. That’s a promise.

It doesn’t mean everything gets fixed right away. But it does mean God is always working to bring healing, comfort, and light, even in the darkest moments. Morning is a symbol of new beginnings, of fresh hope. If you’re in a hard spot right now, don’t give up. God is with you, and joy is on its way. Let that promise carry you through the night and into the sunrise.

Question to Ponder:

Is there something you need to trust God to bring joy into, even if it’s not joyful yet?

Pray

God, remind me that sadness doesn’t last forever. Your joy is coming. Thank you!

Amen.
