Pause

Stop here.

God listens.

Open up.

Be ready.

Listen

Enter his gates with thanks; enter his courtyards with praise! Thank him! Bless his name! Because the Lord is good, his loyal love lasts forever; his faithfulness lasts generation after generation.

Psalm 100:4-5

Think

My friend Rich Melheim often talks about the magic that happens when we “Engage the wisdom of the elder and the wonder of the child every week at church and every night in every home.”

At my church, in worship, kids play, talk, run around, make noise, and laugh.  The older children (think people 60+ years) watch with love, laugh with them, and overflow with grateful words and hearts. There are conversations, high fives, hugs, and connections everywhere. Oh, the blessing, the thanks, and the praise that come to life as we see God’s faithfulness coming to generation after generation when we enter through gates, courtyards, and homes with thanks, praise, and blessing.

I often imagine a world where teens aren’t shuttled over to age-segregated schools for the day, or the older children aren’t left to die lonely in elderly care facilities. Imagine God’s loyal love impacting through new connections and spaces where people are brought together. Imagine seeing the gift of love impact every generation. God is so good!

Question to Ponder:

When and where do you praise God the most?

Pray

God, I want to show up in every space to praise, thank, and bless you. Connect me with people with whom I might share your love. Thank you for sharing your faithfulness with every generation. Amen.
