By God’s grace we can be conduits of God’s infinite love, with our time, our money, and our love. We can be windows for others to God.
Take time just now to consider how God can use all your resources to bring God's love to the world.
No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

One of the things I like about Zach, my 18-year-old son, is that he knows how to enjoy what he has purchased. Recently Zach saved money from his job and bought a new longboard. He knows how to take pleasure in owning and enjoying something beautiful and well-made. He values tooling around campus on his black Australian Penny skateboard. Zach understands the richness in working for something, in buying it, waiting for it to arrive, and then using it to “ride the concrete waves.”
There is the loss of owning by always getting. There is the loss of enjoying beautiful, well-made things by always buying. There is the loss of contentment by always feeling empty, the loss of enough by always wanting more.
Many of us are rich beyond all comparison to most of the world, yet we lose the enjoyment of our abundant lives by chasing after more stuff, money, things. Ironically, it is only when we make God the center of our lives that contentment becomes a real possibility.

God, I serve you and not money. Help me to enjoy the things that money buys, and to have the presence of mind to know how to be content. Amen.
