Journey to the Cross
If you can dream it, you can create it with God’s help. “Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us.”
Ephesians 3:20
Six days before Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, home of Lazarus, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Lazarus and his sisters hosted a dinner for him. Martha served and Lazarus was among those who joined him at the table. Then Mary took an extraordinary amount, almost three-quarters of a pound, of very expensive perfume made of pure nard. She anointed Jesus’ feet with it, then wiped his feet dry with her hair. The house was filled with the aroma of the perfume.
John 12:1-3
Mary did not keep the best for herself but offered it to Jesus. In a world where priorities are often centered on “self” and what we can gain, God calls us to live generously, not only with material things, but also with our time, talent, and money. Mary’s display of love for Jesus made a great impact on those present, as the scent of perfume filled the house. By anointing the feet of Jesus, Mary left a very significant mark in that moment. Our actions, however small, can have a great impact on the lives of others, especially when we are committed to reflecting the love of Christ.
This passage reminds us that devotion to Jesus should not be superficial, but should be authentic, courageous and generous, reflecting our love and gratitude for what God has done for us. Think of all your resources and how you can use them to bring glory to God.

Question to Ponder:
How can you give your best to honor God?
Lord Jesus,
Help me to examine my heart and my life, and to do my best to honor you in all things. May my actions, my words, and my thoughts always reflect your love. Teach me to live with generosity and dedication, seeking always to please you and serve you with joy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Remember that God has created you to live a full and abundant life. Don’t let the difficulties of this life rob you of joy and hope. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and his faithful promises.
