Ordinary Time
Close your eyes and seek a total connection with God. Think of God and consider what you might receive in this moment.
God: the maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them.Ā God: who is faithful forever, who gives justice to people who are oppressed, who gives bread to people who are starving! TheĀ Lord: who frees prisoners. The Lord: who makes the blind see. The Lord: who straightens up those who are bent low. The Lord: who loves the righteous. The Lord: who protects immigrants, who helps orphans and widows, but who makes the way of the wicked twist and turn!
TheĀ Lord will rule forever! Zion, your God will rule from one generation to the next!
Praise theĀ Lord!
Psalm 146:6-10
There are many times when we may find ourselves in need. God knows our needs and is attentive to them. The key is to trust that God will supply what we need. I remember one morning when I was at work. Suddenly an assistant manager says to me,Ā āAbner, the manager wants to see you.ā I was calm, knowing that I had done nothing wrong to receive any particular warning.
To my surprise and when I arrived at her office, she says, āAbner, unfortunately we have to lay off a lot of employees, and you are one of them. Thank you for working this time with us.ā I replied, āNo problem, God will have something for me.ā She was surprised by my reassurance. Two months later God provided a better job. There is no doubt that trust in God brings peace and strength.
