Ordinary Time
Look around you, feel the breeze, and experience the loving warmth of God.
As Jesus continued down the road, a man ran up, knelt before him, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to obtain eternal life?”
Jesus replied, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except the one God. You know the commandments: Don’t commit murder. Don’t commit adultery. Don’t steal. Don’t give false testimony. Don’t cheat. Honor your father and mother.”
“Teacher,” he responded, “I’ve kept all of these things since I was a boy.”
Mark 10:17-20
What must I do to attain eternal life?
I think it is a question that at some point in our lives we have asked ourselves. Perhaps, we make a super long list of all the things we have to do to reach that goal.
However, in a subtle way, the text we read today clearly tells us the only thing we have to do: recognize that God is good. Shout it out: God is good!
By recognizing God’s goodness in our lives, we can do everything else. When we recognize that God has been good to us, then we can respect people, be honored, be faithful, and honor everyone and everything.
When I accept God’s goodness, then I have the ability to be kind and live in peace and community with everyone around me. This is how we attain full life, eternal life, recognizing that everything is because of God’s goodness.

Question to Ponder:
How can I reflect God’s goodness in order to live a full life?
Dear God, thank you for your goodness. I long with all my heart to reflect and share your grace and mercy so that others may also attain fullness of life.
In your name,
Amen.
Keep following God.
You are not alone, never alone.
God is with you.
God is with you.
