Ordinary Time

Pause

To live in relationship with God is to open my heart every day to God’s wisdom, love, and Spirit, allowing God to transform my life.

Listen

He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and proclaim it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine. That’s why I said that the Spirit takes what is mine and will proclaim it to you.

John 16:14-15

Think

One thing that still impresses me about God is the mystery of the Trinity. Think for a moment how crazy it can be that a person is three in one at the same time, but that each identity is not disconnected from the other and at the same time has a voice of its own. This mystery is difficult to understand, but it encapsulates the essence of God—a God who is relational.

The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ and does not act independently, nor does the Spirit seek attention, but reveals Jesus and God’s love to us. The Holy Spirit invites us to have a Christ-centered life, where through the Spirit’s accompaniment, God is revealed to us and brings us into a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Question to Ponder:

Am I cultivating a relationship with the Spirit to lead me beyond knowledge to a true communion with Christ?

Pray

Lord, today I ask you to make me more sensitive to the voice of your Holy Spirit, that my heart may be ready to receive your truth and to know you more deeply. Amen.
