Ordinary Time
Breathe in and say: I have you, God.
Breathe out and say: I have everything.
The Lord is righteous in all his ways, faithful in all his deeds. The Lord is close to everyone who calls out to him, to all who call out to him sincerely.
Psalm 145:17-18
In July 2025, the World Health Organization highlighted a silent threat affecting our times: the loneliness crisis. Nearly one in six people feels lonely. Perhaps this is a familiar experience for you. The psalmist offers comfort for this affliction and a reminder: God is close to those who call upon God. In the face of our loneliness, God offers us presence.
Through Jesus, God offers us a way to be in God’s company. We remember how Jesus lived, loving and welcoming all, going through hard times, and trusting God in his day-to-day life. We can know that God understands what we face. God never offers half-hearted solutions to our pressing needs. Instead, God always offers presence—a relationship of closeness and intimacy with God. We are never all alone. God is always with us.

Question to Ponder:
What’s stopping you from calling on God and enjoying God’s presence?
God, you are Immanuel, God with us, who draws near when I call you. Thank you for answering my cry time and time again. Thank you that your presence is always with me. Amen.
May your life be a reflection of God’s kingdom:
May others see in you what a life under the blessing of God’s presence and provision looks like.
Love, respond, and serve from the abundance of Jesus.
