Ordinary Time
Certainly the faithful love of the Lord hasn’t ended…Great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22–23
I give thanks to you with all my heart, Lord. I sing your praise before all other gods. I bow toward your holy temple and thank your name for your loyal love and faithfulness because you have made your name and word greater than everything else. On the day I cried out, you answered me. You encouraged me with inner strength.
Psalm 138:1-3
Doing something with “all your heart” means you’re all in. In our scripture for today, David is saying just that – he’s all in on praising God. How can David give his whole heart in thanksgiving? He must really believe this God of his is real, hears him, and faithfully shows up for him.
Deep down David trusts that his God is reliable, loving, personable, and answers when he calls, encouraging and strengthening him. Can you imagine having a friend that you can always rely on? A loyal friend who loves, listens, supports, encourages you, and never leaves you? If you had a friend like this, you would definitely be all in! This is the God David knows, and the God you can know through Christ Jesus.
Today take a leap of faith and trust that the God of the universe loves you, hears you, and wants a relationship with you. Give your whole heart to it, and wait and see God’s faithful love show up.

Question to Ponder:
What does it mean to you to be “all in”?
Lord, show me what has my heart. Help me to trust in your love for me as David did. Help me to live today in a way that reveals this leap of faith I am taking in you.
In Christ,
Amen.
Go into the world today knowing that you are a child of God. God goes before you, Christ is within you, and the Holy Spirit will guide you. God is faithful, and God’s love for you never ends.
