Tell me the story of Jesus.
Write on my heart every word;
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Fanny Crosby in "Tell me the story of Jesus" (1880)

Listen

We have been ransomed through his Son’s blood, and we have forgiveness for our failures based on his overflowing grace, which he poured over us with wisdom and understanding.

Ephesians 1:7-8

Think

When you were a child, did you ever get separated from your mom or dad in the grocery store? Maybe you got distracted by something cool, and they continued shopping. With each aisle you passed looking for them, it got scarier and scarier! It happened to me once. I remember bursting into tears. My cries meant my mom knew I was looking for her!

Sometimes our choices feel like we are far away from God. We might even believe we can hide a little because we aren’t sure we can be forgiven. But the truth is, God’s love is so full of grace, and there is nothing you can do that will separate you from it. There is no grocery store big enough that you cannot be found and loved.

It is always amazing to be found! To be seen. To know that no matter how far you may wander from Christ, he will always be ready to welcome you home with overflowing grace, forgiveness, wisdom, and understanding.

Pray

God of Grace, help me always to find my way back to you. Help me to remember that you are the one who is always there waiting with arms wide open to receive me. And help me to extend your amazing grace to others. Amen.
