Ordinary Time 
Pause
Let us pay attention to what we can see and what we cannot see; what we can feel and touch, what we can hear and smell. God manifests in many different ways in our lives.
Listen
The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your land, your family, and your father’s household for the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation and will bless you. I will make your name respected, and you will be a blessing.
“I will bless those who bless you, those who curse you I will curse; all the families of the earth will be blessed because of you.”
Genesis 12:1-3
Think
For some reason, we don’t always hear God’s voice easily. It may be because we believe the task God has given us is too difficult. It may be because we believe we don’t have the ability or knowledge to do it. Despite what we think we are, God sees beyond our own understanding.
When God calls us to do God’s will, we must trust and have faith that it will be for our good even if we don’t see it at the time. When I moved from one city to another, I didn’t know what to expect. This change led me to new friendships, new study schedules, and a new environment. God does not forsake us when we do God’s will and listen to God’s voice.
We need not fear. We need to be assured that God is on our side. It can be uncomfortable to do things that we are not used to doing on a regular basis. God calls us in unexpected places and at unexpected times, so we must be alert to hear God’s call.

What can we do to clearly hear God’s call?
Pray
God, may your light illuminate every step of my way in life. May I hear your voice through the Holy Spirit, as you call me to follow your command even when I am not clear about your will. In your name I pray, Amen.
