Give thanks to the Lord because he is good, because his faithful love lasts forever. Let Israel say it: “God’s faithful love lasts forever!”

I could not have been more nervous. I had never been to a formal job interview, and I could feel my hands shaking as the assistant manager ushered me into the store owner’s office. Without hesitation, the store owner stood up, reached out his hand, and said with genuine enthusiasm, “Thank you for applying for the job!” He then turned to the assistant manager and thanked her for bringing me in. Thirty minutes later, I was touring the store with the owner. Every person we encountered—both customers and employees—was sincerely thanked for something.

God’s faithful love toward us lasts forever. Humble love remembers God’s goodness. One way we put humble love into action is by being thankful. Gratitude keeps us grounded, reminding us that we depend on God, not ourselves.
