Pause

Sit still. Take a deep breath. Listen to these words.

You are beloved.

Let those words reverberate throughout your being. Let them echo in your mind and whisper in your soul. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more or make God love you less.

This is the healing power of Christ Jesus.

Listen

Praise the Lord! I thank the Lord with all my heart in the company of those who do right, in the congregation. The works of the Lord are magnificent; they are treasured by all who desire them. God’s deeds are majestic and glorious. God’s righteousness stands forever. God is famous for his wondrous works. The Lord is full of mercy and compassion.

Think

In his book Life of the Beloved, Henry Nouwen writes, “all I want to say to you is ‘You are the Beloved,’ and all I hope is that you can hear these words as spoken to you with all the tenderness and force that love can hold. My only desire is to make these words reverberate in every corner of your being – ‘You are the Beloved.’”

Healing is more than skin-deep. Healing occurs within our souls. It occurs when we hear the still, small voice of God whisper within us and when we feel the unending relentless love of God overtake us. It happens when we realize that we are loved beyond measure and beyond time, that our value rests not in this world but in our creator.

Go

You are seen.

You are known.

You are loved to the very depths of your being.

Now go and share that love with the world.

This is the healing power of Christ Jesus in you.

Amen.
