Pause

God is speaking all the time. It's up to us to listen, to have our hearts open to hear.

You have before you a wonderful opportunity, a chance once again to listen for the quiet voice of God. Open your heart now to hear.

Listen

As we work together with him, we urge you also not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says, “At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you.” See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation!

2 Corinthians 6:1-2

Think

God listens! God helps! That is the good news of our salvation. Sometimes a friend might ask us when we were saved. Some of us can name a date when we recognized our salvation. Some of us always have known that we were God’s beloved children. Either way, it is easy to “accept the grace of God in vain;” to forget that God’s grace is a gift neither given to us nor withheld from us because of anything we have done or not done.

The grace of God is that our day of salvation came long before we recognized or claimed it. Every day gives us opportunities to see God’s salvation at work in us, claiming us as God’s own. God is always present to help us in our personal lives and our life in the world. Even now God is listening to you, caring for you, providing for you, and loving you. Open your heart to this time with God. God listens! God helps!

Pray

Are you there, God? It’s me! I am listening for your word of grace. Thank you for loving me just as I am, and working in my life to guide me in your way of salvation and hope. Amen.

Go

Will your heart be open
To hear what God will say?
Will your eyes be clear
So you can follow in God's way?
God is speaking.
Listen now.
The way is clear.
Follow.
