Following the Star
It is Advent. The Lord is coming. This is our hope.
With every breath you take — Wait. With every breath you take — Listen.
Wait and Listen. Hear the coming of the Lord.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God always for you, because of God’s grace that was given to you in Christ Jesus. That is, you were made rich through him in everything: in all your communication and every kind of knowledge, in the same way that the testimony about Christ was confirmed with you. The result is that you aren’t missing any spiritual gift while you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also confirm your testimony about Christ until the end so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, and you were called by him to partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:3-9
Broken relationships, strained friendships, and heated disagreements. No, I am not referring to social media, although it surely applies. These are the problems that Paul is responding to in his letter to the members of one church community.
As divided as the community was, Paul did not think that they were beyond healing. He believed that the grace and faithfulness of God through Jesus was more than enough to heal their relationships.
Through modern technology, it is easy to have heated disagreements that result in fractured communities. You may have experienced this yourself or have found yourself contributing to it. Jesus shows us the way toward healthy relationships.
Jesus offers us peace. And not just peace, but more than peace, he offers himself as the gift from God that the world so desperately needs.
We need a savior. We need you Jesus.
Come Lord Jesus, Come.

Lord, you mend the things that are broken. Bring peace and healing to my strained relationships and to the world. Amen.
It is Advent. The Lord is coming.
